LeoVegas launches in-house gaming studio

Global iGaming operator LeoVegas has announced the launch of its in-house gaming studio, LeoVegas Studios, that will be dedicated to creating innovative slot games. This marks a milestone in the company’s expansion plan that focuses on the creation of games exclusive to the group’s brands.

The group said the launch is a step towards its long-term growth strategy and will help further strengthen its various brands. The new studio will be led by the game producer and former creative director at Light & Wonder, Mats Andersson.

What’s new about LeoVegas Studio?

LeoVegas Studio will be using player data from across the group for the design and development of its games, catering to evolving player tastes. This will help support broader customer acquisition strategies, LeoVegas said.

The launch aligns with the company’s broader strategy to increase control over its value chain within the iGaming ecosystem. The games developed by LeoVegas Studios will enhance the company and its parent, MGM Resorts International’s, existing portfolio of intellectual property.

LeoVegas Studios’ proprietary game, Where Pigeons Dare will launch on the platform on 25 September. Three more games are set to launch this year, with another six titles planned for 2025.

Identifying LeoVegas Studios as a “fantastic addition” to the group, LeoVegas Group Director of Gaming, James Ford said, “With enhanced creative freedom and technical control, we are now positioned to forge our own path and develop exclusive, innovative games that align with our vision and meet our players’ evolving needs. Where Pigeons Dare is just the beginning — our future lineup will continue to captivate and push the boundaries of entertainment.”

The launch comes as the company prepares to add another brand to its portfolio. In June this year, LeoVegas entered into an agreement to acquire Tipico Group’s US sportsbook and online casino platforms for an undisclosed amount.
